At the start of this year, I wanted to create a branding project that took direct inspiration from one of the Pinterest Predicts topics for 2026. These are a collection of mood boards created by Pinterest, with visuals that they believe will be trendy in 2026. By using one of them as a starting point for a branding project, I am able to challenge myself to create work in a specific style and create a brand that I love that might perform better on Pinterest by being seen as trendy.
For this passion project, I chose to use Pinterest’s theme of “Pen Pals” which is all about handwritten letters, cups of tea, ribbons, stickers and scrapbooking. I love following Illustrators on Instagram and Threads, and really love the mail subscription services that these artists have begun to offer to share their work in a format that many can access.
So with all this in mind, I created a fictional brand for a fictional illustrator called Hayley, who has a studio called “Post & Honey”. I created a soft colour palette of vintage tones with a softer ‘sticker’ style logo. I also sourced or created a wide range of textures, tape, paper and stickers to allow the brand and social media to compliment Hayley’s artwork and blend the digital logo with her tactile art. The result is a really full brand toolkit with a really lovely font, that feels fun to use and play with on social media.
