Branding Mood Boards 101

If you are looking to offer more value to your clients, create a deeper process and use mood boards to help your clients quickly understand your recommended directions. This one is for you.

As a designer, being able to visually explain my ideas in an easy-to-understand way that helps my clients come to a clear decision is so important. It takes all the guessing out of the process, saves me time, and my clients love reviewing these mood boards with me. They feel included in the process and fully informed, which is exactly the balance I want to nurture in my business. No surprises and a smooth process.

Leveling up your offering should be a walk in the park so I’ve designed this course to break my mood boarding process down into simple steps, with strategy, tips, a workbook, and even some accountability!

So are you ready?

  • To effortlessly turn your client’s word and values into images that they love and ideas they want to move forward with

  • To find easy ways to collect imagery and pull your ideas into clear routes

  • To paint a full picture of the brand so you can effectively communicate your ideas to your clients so you can get confirmed routes forward.

FAQs:

Is this course completely free?
Yes, this is my first course and the start of a new chapter for Begin Studio as we venture into courses and resources. So I’m thrilled to offer this course completely free so you can get a sense of what’s to come.

I’m already a branding designer with a mood board process, is this course still for me?
Absolutely! If there’s one thing I’ve learned since graduating 6 years ago, it’s that there are countless processes that designers have and every designer is unique. This course is all about how I was taught and really delves into ways to save you time, create clear routes, and goes into the strategy of mood board presenting so I’m 99% sure learn something new or get a different perspective!

I’m not a designer, but I want to become one! Is this course for me?
This course requires a little understanding of the branding process but takes you through a step-by-step guide on presenting mood boards to your clients as a tool for a simple and clear start to your projects. If you are an absolute beginner then there’s still lots of value in taking the course as you can learn all about these first steps, but if you are struggling with implementing them then you can reach out to me at amy@beginstudio.co.uk to offer feedback and help me understand the types of courses that would benefit you.

I can’t download the templates or worksheet - what can I do?
Email me at amy@beginstudio.co.uk and I’ll send over a WeTransfer link.

Will this course be free forever?
Yes, this particular course will be free for as long as Begin Studio and Teachable exists (which I hope is for decades to come!). I may include this free module inside a larger course or as part of a bundle, but the course will always be a free addition.

About me:

My name is Amy, I’m a British branding designer based in the Netherlands. My career started with a degree from Edinburgh College of Art in Graphic Design, and has continually grown through my experience in design agencies, working in-house and finally freelancing.

I’ve been out of art school for 6 years now and I feel ready to pass on my skills and knowledge learnt from my mentors at agency, skills I’ve picked up along the way and hundreds of projects over six years.
